A Novel Idea: 6/14/16

By Sky Destrian - June 14, 2016

As a writer, keeping inspiration going from week to week can be tough. My wonderful friend Ashley and I want to change that. The point of A Novel Idea is to get your writing juices flowing even when you don’t feel like writing. We also want it to help you dig deeper into what writing looks like for you and let you share it with the world. We’ll be posting installments weekly, all focused on four things: characters, your novel, you writing process, and writing prompts. Follow the weekly guidelines and post it on your blog, then link up with us! We’d love to hear from you each week.

This week, we are asking you to describe your character without using a picture. What do they look like? What do they wear? What is their personality like? Help us get to know your character without using any pictures at all!

  1. These are really good prompts, and even though I may not be blogging them, they are helping me in my writing in general. Who knew that I had only the basic "haiircolor, eyecolor, and smile" for my MC. I need DETAIL! XD

    1. I'm so glad this is helping you, Laura! Thanks for joining in! Detail is VERY important. XD

  2. I maaay have forgotten to join in last week but I am this time! LOVE the prompt this week, by the way. There's nothing I love more than describing my characters! =)

    1. Thanks for linking up, Shay! It's so awesome to have you. Describing characters is really hard for me, but it's the BEST. And for whatever reason, it feels super rewarding when you get that description just right. Thanks for stopping by!

Comments make the world go 'round... or was that chocolate?

Thank you for stopping by! I read every single comment and love them all. Seriously, it makes my day. I do my best to comment back!

My only rule is basic respect and honor. Disagreement is accepted, but hate and trolling is not. Otherwise, say what you need to say, and have fun. And don't forget to grab a free complimentary mint on your way out.
