heroes & tales untold.

This, my friends, is my latest musical inspiration.

No, seriously. Do have a listen. I have a feeling a lot of you will probably like it.

What's not to love about this piece? The strings are glorious. The theme is brave and strong, evoking feelings of courage and longing for other worlds. I feel so inspired when I listen to it; stories, ideas, and characters seem to literally be spilling out of my head, waiting to be written. They pull at my heartstrings with tales of valor and honor and courage, deeds that have remained unsung.

But not for long. I shall be the one to write them. And so could you. After all, the pen IS mightier than the sword.

One of my friends once gave me a notebook with this text on the front:

You have a story, and it needs to be told.

Indeed.

  2. GAME OF THRONES!!! I'm a ridiculous fan of the books - love them, absolutely love them - and I agree, that theme is amazing. I also like the Dovahkiin theme from the Skyrim game, though I don't play it. Just makes me want to grab a sword and go and do some heroic stuff. That, or sit down at my computer and make my characters do that. That tends to work better.

Also, that notebook. I want it because reasons.

  3. Lovelovelove that song! It's been my favourite since I first heard a couple weeks ago, and it isn't very often when a song will stay on my favourites list for more than few days. It's just so tremendously wonderful :)

  4. I love movie/t.v. show scores! I have to say some of my favourite are Little Women (1994) score and Sherlock Holmes (The Hans Zimmer one) score. Oh, and the Lion King. You should check them out if you like scores:)

  7. Why oh why do they have the over-bright cello in the foreground of the theme? So typical of movie-music! Don't get me wrong, I love celli-- but the players get a little too cocky once in a while, and it doesn't help matters that they're widely respected as the most awesome instrument in the orchestra. Personally, I don't think this is quite true, but what can you do? Their egos refuse to deflate.
But this is still some pretty cool music.

    1. And then there was the cheesy cut-off at the end... I alternately love and hate soundtracks.

  8. I'm not even two minutes into this video yet and I can only say I agree. Some heroic stories are begging to be written with music like this in mind! Aren't film/TV scores lovely?

  9. VERY nice song! I now want to go write a sword battle, or, a chase through a forest on horses. Something, exciting!
